Drawing Pennywise
This first drawing template is quite terrifying… We’re going to give him a horrific look with a “zoom in on his head” effect, it always works to perfection. This drawing is not recommended for children under 10. Please allow an hour for completion. ✍️

1) The Drawing Basics
We’re going to draw it obliquely to give it a very original style. Start by drawing a circle to create his head. Next, draw the guiding lines of the face in the shape of a cross, as shown in our diagram.
2) The Skull
Using the guidelines you drew in step one, sketch the actual structure of Pennywise’s head and face. As you can see, he has a long, well-defined chin.
3) The Eyes of Pennywise
Start sketching the intense look that Pennywise offers. The eye contours should be darker, more pronounced and more or less thick. Draw the eyelid crease, then add detail under the eyes and on the temples. Trace the frowning eyebrows and eyeballs. 👁
4) Mouth and Nose
Make a detailed sketch of his forehead as well as the bridge of his nose. Once that’s done, draw the clown’s nose, but as you can see, it’s not perfectly round. Instead, it’s a real nose with nostrils. Trace the eyebrow wrinkles on the sides of the nose, then draw the outline of the mouth. Notice the wrinkles around the lips…
5) The Dentition
Next, draw the upper gum line, then the upper row of teeth and the lower row of teeth. Color the inside of the mouth, then trace the lower lip line.
6) The Neck
Draw the right side of Pennywise’s neck, then add the wild, crazy strands of hair that run from the side of his head. Take your time so that the contours of the hair stand out perfectly.
7) The Hair
Finally, draw the other side of the hair and the left side of the neck, as well as the ruffled collar. Erase the lines and shapes you drew in the first step.
8) Filling your Drawing
When everything’s clean (after erasing the guiding lines), you’ve got a great drawing of the monster from It. Now all you have to do is color it to give it an extremely demonic style!
Draw Pennywise in Animated Version

1) The Drawing Guides
Start by drawing the guides and basic shapes of Pennywise’s face. These are the lines that will give you the right direction for what comes next.
2) The Clown Chin
Using the face guides, continue and draw the shape of the expressive face structure.
3) The Face of the Terrifying Clown
Once you’ve drawn the lower structure of the Pennywise face, you can work on the upper half, starting with the temple, then the forehead on the left side. Once you’ve completed this step, you can draw the eyebrows and sinister eye shapes. Draw the scruffy nose, then sketch the details and definition of the face. 💀
4) The Eyes
Here, we invite you to finish the eyes by drawing the pupil and points just above it, then draw the lines of clown makeup hollowing out his cheeks.
5) The Smile
Draw Pennywise’s smile, stretching almost from ear to ear.
6) The Teeth
Start drawing Pennywise’s teeth, which need to be sharp. Also adds more definition to the mouth. 🦷
7) Lips
Here, all you have to do is draw the shape of the lower lip to give a monstrous mouth.
8) Mouth Fill
Adds shadow behind and below the top row of teeth.
9) Wrinkles
Draw wrinkles on the forehead to add terror and expression to our beloved killer. 🔪
10) Hair
Now let’s move on to the animated clown’s hair. First outline the hair, then sketch the hair strands and their texture.
11) Side Hair
Also adds the other hair on the left side. Uses an anime hair drawing style.
12) The collar
Now that the face is complete, work on the ruffled collar in comic style.
13) Neck Stuffing
Adds another layer to the ruffled collar to make it even more voluminous.
14) A Grandiose Style
Repeat the process, adding another layer to the ruffled collar.
15) Shoulders
This is the last layer of the turtleneck you’ll need to draw. Once finished, draw the details of the arm and sleeve of the clown costume.
16) Clothing
Add collar details that will transform a simple collar into a series of ruffled ribbons.
