Let’s get started!

As a true Goth, you certainly have a well-stocked liquor cabinet. It’s your secret weapon for successful gothic drinks! But what if you want to go one step further and impress everyone? In that case, you’ll have to get into the kitchen and make your own cocktails, to be sure of impressing your friends. That’s why we’ve selected the 5 coolest Gothic cocktails for you to make and enjoy, of course 😉 Here they are:

Gothic Cocktail #5: “Corpse Reviver 2”

Let’s start right away with an absinthe-based cocktail to get the evening off to a great start! Absinthe is the quintessential gothic spirit, and a classic of nighttime gatherings… Although the legends surrounding it are largely myth, absinthe remains one of the favorite drinks of many Goths. ☠️ And with its distinctive character, it’s easy to see why!
To make this devilishly soulful cocktail, you’ll need :

  • 2 cl absinthe (of course!)
  • 2 cl Lillet Blanc
  • 2 cl Cointreau (Triple Sec, or any other orange-based liqueur, also works)
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 2 cl Gin (yes, we’re going to add Gin!)
  • A lemon zest for an elegant garnish

To begin, add the absinthe to the (definitive) glass you’ve chosen. This will allow you to pour in the cocktail mix you’re about to make. Add all the other ingredients (except the lemon zest) to a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. 🧊 And then shake, shake, shake.
Then just pour it into your glass and add the lemon zest, which will give it an extra kick. Pair it with gin and you’ll be transported straight to hell, taking everyone far beyond thanks to the cocktail’s distinctive taste. Not to be overlooked for a successful evening.

Gothic cocktail #4: “Mr. Hyde’s Potion”

Surprisingly purple, this cocktail is also a sensation! Serving a purple drink, a color you wouldn’t expect for an alcoholic beverage, is a wonderful idea.
To make this marvel, you need to prepare your own tarragon syrup. Don’t worry, we’ll show you how. For this step, you’ll need :

  • One cup of water
  • One cup of sugar (same size as the water)
  • Two sprigs of fresh tarragon

Add the water and sugar to a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until the mixture begins to boil slightly. Then add the fresh tarragon (after all, we’re making tarragon syrup here). Simmer for ten minutes, stirring occasionally and reducing the heat when the mixture starts to boil. Once this time has elapsed, remove the tarragon and turn off the heat.
Now it’s time to prepare the rest of the cocktail! For this, you’ll need:

  • 3 cl Vodka
  • 1 cl Liqueur d’Amour
  • 1 cl Blackberry Liqueur
  • 1 cl Lemon Juice
  • 1 cl Lavender Syrup

Add these ingredients, along with the syrup you’ve just made, and plenty of crushed ice, to your shaker. And of course, shake vigorously to get a worthy mixture. Just do this for about 20 seconds, until the mixture is nice and cold. ⏱
Pour it into a glass and all that’s left for you to do is enjoy! The ideal garnish for this cocktail is to add a few blackberries to the end of toothpicks. You’ll end up with a gorgeous, delicious drink.

Gothic cocktail #3: “The Black Devil”

Unlike the last cocktail, the Black Devil Martini requires virtually no additional preparation to make a delicious and very potent gothic cocktail. To prepare it, all you need is:

  • 4 cl Black Rum
  • 2 cl Vermouth Sec
  • A black olive for garnish
  • Black, orange or red sugar

To get started, surround the glasses with colored sugar. If you’re planning a big party, you can use different-colored sugar for the glasses instead of standardizing them. It’s always more fun! Unless you prefer everything black, in which case we totally agree with you 😉

As with the final stages of the cocktails mentioned above, simply add crushed ice to your shaker, along with all the liquid ingredients (in any order) mentioned above, then shake well. Then pour the mixture into your glass and voila!

Gothic cocktail #2: “The Red Widow”

Ah, this one’s perfect as the first cocktail of the evening or even to close your party in style… no matter what time of the evening, really. 🥳
Here’s what you need to create this wonder:

  • 2 cl Black Vodka
  • 2 cl Cranberry Juice
  • Red Sugar

You can, of course, use the red sugar to create a pretty border on the glass. And if you really want to be original and unique, you can also find those little beads usually used for birthday cakes and put them in your glass.
Next, fill your glass with ice and pour in the cranberry juice. Finally, slowly pour the black vodka over the cranberry juice. This will create a layering effect, giving your drink a look as powerful on the outside as it is on the inside! 😈

Gothic Cocktail #1: “The Brain Cocktail”

The best for last, the most diabolical too, the brain cocktail is our favorite because it’s the most gothic of them all! To make this darkly atmospheric creation, you’ll need:

  • 1 cl Strawberry Vodka
  • 2 cl Lime Juice
  • 3 cl Baileys (or other Irish cream)
  • A little Grenadine or other red syrup

Take your vodka and add it to the lime juice in your shaker. There’s no need to add ice for this recipe! Shake well and carefully pour the mixture into a shot glass. 🧉
Now comes the tricky part. Dip a very small amount of Irish cream into the shot glass using a straw. Use your finger on the top of the straw to create a gentle suction to keep the Baileys inside, then, after immersing the Baileys, slowly remove the straw while holding your finger in place. The Baileys will then form “brains” on the surface of the glass. 🧠

Once you’ve done that, you can add a little red syrup for an extra attention-worthy effect. And voila, you’ve got a drink that will horrify your guests while delighting them at the tasting!
