History of Warlocks MC
Known for its clans on the US East Coast and in several other countries, the Warlocks Motorcycle Club is often referred to as a “1%” club. According to the story, the club was founded by 13 soldiers with a passion for motorcycle racing. They met during an eight-month mission on an aircraft carrier, far from the United States. 🤝
Once back home, they decided to form a group, without initially having the ambition to become as famous as they did just a few months after their creation. They chose to name the club the “Warlock Motorcycle Club”, featuring the Phoenix from the very first version of the logo. We’ll talk more about this later, but for them, the Phoenix symbolized rebirth, having survived their various missions abroad.
Among the 13 men, one name stands out: Grub Freeland. He put more effort into the club’s creation than anyone else at the time, earning him the title of club creator today. The original gang, considered the “mother clan”, was established in Lockhart Orlando. However, rumors have it… Some claim that the idea for the club originated during a visit to the Philadelphia shipyards in the late 1960s. However, there is no evidence to support these claims.
Warlocks Motorcycle Club 1%
The Warlocks Motorcycle Club is a “1%” motorcycle gang. This means that it is involved in criminal activities to support the club or influential club members. Over the past four decades, the Warlocks Motorcycle Club has grown considerably. It has spread throughout the USA, England and Germany. Which sometimes worries the countries where they’ve set up shop… 🧐
The club grew rapidly after the Vietnam War, when many former soldiers returned to the United States. Many of them returned to Florida and Pennsylvania, feeling like “outcasts” from society. Some didn’t hesitate to turn to the dark side… To the point of being considered one of the most dangerous gangs in the USA by the FBI.

What’s a motorcycle club without a logo and slogan? Just a bunch of tourists… On a more serious note, let’s take a look together at the club’s logo and its various meanings, as well as the slogan that members use on a daily basis to enforce their rules and recognize each other.
The club crest was designed by the original thirteen members of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club in 1969. Originally, it appeared to represent an eagle. The eagle, being one of the most respected animals in the United States, symbolizes calm, power in battle and majestic charisma. However, more recent versions show a Phoenix, which is essentially an eagle rising from the ashes. In any case, the crest features a giant bird and flames.
This choice of animal was not made at random. It represents royalty, charisma and, above all, rebirth, just as soldiers who have gone into battle and returned from hell find themselves in a situation of “rebirth”. That’s why it was chosen at the time.
Member crest
MC members wear, as in all 1% motorcycle clubs, the gang crest. They wear it proudly to display their membership of the group. The Phoenix and its flames are often represented in the form of a “patch” that bikers affix to their jackets, t-shirts and jackets, whether or not they’re on motorcycles. 🔥
This warm patch brings members together and makes for an exceptional item. It’s gorgeous with its warm colors. Yellow, red and black combine for a rather aggressive style that exudes a unique charm. The slogans “Warlocks forever, forever Warlocks” and “Our Business is none of your fucking business” are often placed just below the logo. The former simply means “Warlocks forever, forever Warlocks”, while the latter conveys a more violent message: “Our business is none of your fucking business, you **!💥
The MC in figures
Let’s take a look at some figures for the MC, including the main clans spread around the world. Indeed, there are biker groups flying the gang’s colors all over the world, including Canada, Germany and Great Britain, but that’s not all! There are :
- 11 clans in Florida
- 5 in Virginia
- 7 in Southern California
- 2 in Ohio
- 4 in West Virginia
- 1 large group in New York
- 3 in Canada
- 2 in Germany
- 3 in England
By contrast, there are no clans in France. It’s one of the least known biker gangs in our country, even in Belgium.
Gang Rules
Some club members are regularly excluded. Indeed, they often break the rules laid down in their own bylaws. Some, for example, have rallied the Black Dragon and Chester patches and formed clans that were basically enemies. The real Warlocks have nothing to do with Chester, as the club has officially declared. As a result, they were permanently excluded from the gang.
Yet Chester kept his patches and continued to pretend to be part of the Warlocks. This poses a big problem in the biker club scene right now. Clubs are so preoccupied with expansion that they’re handing out patches to everyone. There’s no verification of official members, and no proper waiting and prospecting period, which may displease influential members… 😏
In the past, it was normal to wait a year before joining the community. Many requirements also had to be met before a clan could come into being. However, new clubs no longer operate in this way. They dream of being like the big 1% clubs, which leads them to break certain rules.
The Biker Gang’s activities
The Warlocks are no exception in terms of illegal activities… Indeed, they’ve been involved in numerous drug trafficking cases since the 1970s. They’re even considered one of the pioneering clubs in the bad biker days!
Methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD – nothing was left untouched, right up until the 1990s, when the club reached its financial peak. However, this came to an abrupt end with police intervention in the gang’s various clans. Elite members were jailed, weapons, drugs and premises were seized, and activities came to a complete halt… ⛔️ All these illegal activities were also part of Free Souls MC’s daily routine!
Since then, the club has sort of “settled down”, concentrating on selling T-shirts in the club colors, charity work and meetings between motorcycle and big-bore enthusiasts!
What happened with the Chester Warlocks?
In this business, anything can happen at any time, even the unexpected. This time, it was a woman’s story. Donna Morrelli was the widow of a man who was a long-time member of the Warlocks. When he passed away, she decided to keep the chapter’s trademarks and property. An action that would never have been allowed in a well-organized motorcycle club. 🧐
Donna made the mistake of donning the club’s colors without the members’ permission, which had disastrous consequences. Some took it very badly and came to blows with her, calling her all sorts of names. Two men were imprisoned as a result.
